First aid for snake bite
EDITOR, - I was angered by the covert messages in Drs Craig Gerrard and Janice Adam's piece on Minerva's page.1 I would very much like to know what they would have done to help a child bitten by a poisonous snake if they had been in the foothills of the Himalayas in the 1930s. It certainly would not have been possible to flag down a passing bullock cart and nip to the nearest accident and emergency department for a quick antivenom jab.
