Intersex adults seem to be well adjusted

Adult women with congenital adrenal hyperplasia are as psychologically and socially well adjusted as the general population. When Morgan and colleagues (p 340) administered structured interviews and questionnaires to 18 women presenting with the disorder to an endocrinology clinic in London, they found the women's social adjustment scores were within the normal range and self esteem scores were above average. Though their data indicated low levels of sexual activity and higher levels of non-heterosexual orientation among the women with the disorder, legitimate normative data for this comparison are lacking.
